In healthy individuals.Methods:To provide two distinct classes for differentiation while keeping the classifier robust, fMRI images from healthy female subjects while performing positive emotional and motor imagery are collected and used to train the classifier using Support Vector Machine (SVM).Results:We expect to create a classifier with more than 75% accuracy that can differentiate between brain states of positive mood or motor imagery. This classifier will then be associated to an NF system to train patients with major depression as the second stage of the project. The patients will be asked to recreate a 'healthy' brain state guided by rtfMRI NF systemConclusions:This study can introduce one of the first non-invasive BCI-based solutions to depressive symptoms. Here, we primarily demonstrate a classifier for two distinct brain states using fMRI images.
